It took some force to get the old one out, but this tube slid right in and created a perfect seal on my first try. The steam release feels steadier now during cooking.

The fit on the 55408 model is exact, so the lid seals properly again without any rattling or steam escaping sideways. My old one was warped from years of use, and this replacement vents at the right pressure during a full cook, which put my mind at ease.

William A. ★★★★★ Oct 26, 2026

Took about two minutes to swap out the old one, and the pressure release is back to being steady and consistent during cooking. The threading matched up cleanly with my 55408, so no wrestling or leaks around the lid. Exactly what I needed to get this cooker back in daily rotation.
